The 5 A’s & P’s

The following are some things to keep in mind about evangelism before you go. We have an Assignment, we make ourselves Available, we have the Ability and the Anointing and walk in Authority. As we go we Prepare, Pray, Praise God, Put on the armor and Possess the land.

The Five “A”s

  1. Assignment
    • The Great Commission…not the Great Omission.
    • Mark 16:15 – Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
  2. Availability
    • The hardest thing about evangelism is showing up.
  3. Ability
    • God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
    • He gives us the ability. If he could use a donkey, He can use you.
  4. Anointing
    • Luke 4:18,19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
  5. Authority
    • Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The Five “P”s

  1. Pray
    • Matthew 9:37, 38 ~ The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.
    • Ephesians 6:18, 19 ~ Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel.
  2. Praise
    • Praise God Continually.
    • It is His work, and we give Him all the glory for it.
    • All the angels in heaven rejoice over one sinner who repents.
  3. Put on the Armor
    • Loins girt about with Truth
    • Breastplate of Righteousness
    • Feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace
    • Shield of Faith
    • Helmet of Salvation
    • Sword of the Spirit (Word of God)
  4. Possess the Land
    • Joshua 1:3 ~ Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
  5. Preparation
    • We have to know who we are in Christ
    • Isaiah 54:17 ~ No weapon formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
