Iquitos Peru 2002

We had an awesome trip to the jungle city of Iquitos, Peru.  We prayed with 10,258 people to receive Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior!  To God be the glory.  We had a team made up with 10 people from Minnesota, 2 from Georgia, and one from Oklahoma.  The unity amongst the team was tremendous!  God opened the doors of opportunity to share in the public schools in Iquitos.  We got invited to speak in around 4 to 5 different schools.  Each one of them had two shifts per day where the students came in.  Pastor Matt Judd from Georgia, did the first assembly service where 800 people got born again!  The team went class to class, sharing the love of Jesus with the students and teachers.  It was a wonderful experience.

We also did evangelism training for the local church in Iquitos.  The name of the church is Asiel.  We did training on both Monday and Tuesday and took people out on the streets around the church.  In just a matter of a couple hours almost 1,000 souls came into the kingdom of God!

We were invited into the homes of people and prayed for arthritis, tumors, and people got their healing immediately!  There was a woman, who we had prayed for a year ago, because she couldn't have children.  She was one of the first people that we encountered when we were witnessing the first day of our city campaign.  She came out of her house and invited us to come in and see her new 11 day old baby!  To God be the glory.  Not only did the Lord perform miracles in over 10,000 souls to recieve Christ.  He also added naturally to the body of Christ with a new baby!

Our next to last night that we were there, we had a concert at the Colliseum in Iquitos.  There were over 3,500 people in attendance.  The missionary from Peru said, that it was the most attended meeting that they have ever had for a church service in that building!  God is definitely opening up the doors of opportunity for Iquitos.

The Lord did many wonderful things for us while we were in Iquitos.  It never ceases to amaze me, what God continually does when we, the body of Christ, are obedient!  We are tentatively are planning a trip to Lima, Peru sometime in the month of December or January of next year.
