I am the Head of Outreach at The Good News Church in Augusta, Ga. I first
met Pastor Nick Kinn in September of 2000. He came to our church to do an
evangelism outreach. That weekend he taught us in the church and led us out
onto the streets as we prayed with over 300 people in our city to be born
again. Praise God! Our church was forever changed. The last quarter of
2000, we prayed with over 1000 people on the streets, doing what Pastor Nick
had taught us to do.
Since Pastor Nick first visited our church, we have now prayed with over
13,000 people. Praise God! Pastor Nick imparted into us the spirit of
evangelism and a passion for reaching the lost in our city. As of summer
2002, we have gone to other cities to do city blitzes and teach other
churches what we have learned from Pastor Nick.
We have found that it is so easy to get others born again. We used to be
afraid of sharing the gospel, thinking that we had to know many scriptures to
answer people's questions or convice them of the truth of God's Word. But we
have found that in every neighborhood, on every street and at every large
event in the city there are people who want to know, if they were to die
tonight, if they would go to heaven when they die. We are able to help them
know for certain, according to the bible, that they would go to heaven when
they die. We see people change right in front of our eyes. We love them in
their sins, just like God does, and do not condemn them for what they are
doing. We just tell them how they can act on what they already believe and
know they can go to heaven when they die and start living the life God wants
them to live here on the earth.
I suggest you read the articles on the web site that Pastor Nick has written. If you are in a church that wants to reach your city, but you do not know
how to do it, have your pastor contact Pastor Nick, or bring him in for a
weekend event. Our pastor did and it changed our church and our city. Yes
we touched our city for Jesus, but the biggest change we had was in us. We
changed more and more as we realized how much God loves people and how easy
it is for us to get people saved.
