Have You Heard the Good News Header

The 6 "E"'s to One on One Evangelism

  1. Entrance (definition: opening)
    • Most people say that they could never do street witnessing because they could never approach people.  You talk to people everyday at the grocery store, etc.
    Option:
    • Have you heard the good news?
    • Hey, have you gotten one of these?
    • We are out doing a survey.  Do you mind if we ask you a question?
  2. Evaluation (to determine where a person is)
    • Ask the question:  "Would you know if anything happened to you tonight or a long time from now, would you know in your heart that you would go to heaven?"
You will get one of several answers:
  3. Encouragement (definition: To give courage, hope, or confidence to - never put anyone down.)
    • If someone says yes, I will go to heaven:
      • That is great - can I ask you how you know your are going to heaven?
      • May even ask - "When your time is done on this earth and you stand before God and he asks you: "Why should I let you into my heaven?  what would you say?
        • Most will say - Because I am a good person, I go to church, I try to be nice to people.  Encourage them - "That is great, we need to do that".
        • Go to Education
  4. Education (definition: the process of training and developing knowledge, skill, mind, or character)
    • If someone says, "No one can know if they are going to heaven"
      • 1 John 5:12-13
    • If someone says, "I am going to heaven because I go to church and am a good person."
      • John 3:3, Ephesians 2:8
    • Ask them:
      • Do they believe in Jesus?
      • Do they believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died for their sins, and was raised from the dead on Easter?
        • If yes - Great! Encourage them - the Bible says you are qualified to go to heaven.
      • Give them Romans 10:9&10
      • Go to Extend an Invitation
  5. Extend an Invitation / Enlist them in the family of God
    • Ask the, "Can I have the honor of saying a short prayer with you, the same prayer someone said with me to invite Jesus in your heart right now?  Repeat this after me...
  6. Exhortation (definition: to recommend or advise, build up their spirit.)
    • After they have received Jesus in their heart, exhort them.
      • Jesus now lives in your heart
      • Your name is being written in the book of life right now
      • Angels are rejoicing over you
      • Jesus loves you very much, and has an awesome plan for your life
      • The Bible says - He will never leave you
      • You are now going to heaven because Jesus is your Lord and Savior
      • Need to get into a good Bible believing church
      • Need to pray - get to know Him
      • Need to be around others who believe like you do
